Back in the studio…

I love their colours and their shapes, how the wind and the waves and the elements have shaped them.

I love the stories they tell, what they were used for, who used them, what they were used to catch, who found them and how far they drifted in the currents.

I also love giving them new life and painting them with forests of kelp and fascinating fishes.

But they are also beautiful just as they are when they come to me, beaten up and broken, just a different type of beautiful.
